200 Youths Like Cosplay Come To Restaurants In Kudus Disbanded, Police: In A Strange Costume

JAKARTA - The police dispersed hundreds of youths who were considered strange costumes who visited a restaurant in Kudus on Friday, August 30.

The costume of around 200 young men is like the cosplay community or costume games. They are considered to disturb the convenience of buyers.

"The presence of 200 young men who wore strange costumes, because someone brought underwear to express them as tuyul. Then there were those who wore pocong costumes, farmers, fishermen, to like crazy people, thus disturbing the comfort of consumers who came to eat," said Deputy Chief of Police Kudus Kompol Satya Adi Nugraha in Kudus, Central Java, Friday 30 August, confiscated by Antara.

He revealed that their presence was also sudden and there was no communication with the restaurant owner, so the costumes they used also disturbed the comfort of other visitors.

Finally, he said, the restaurant owner reported it to the City Police, then the police on duty were present at the location.

When they arrived at the location, he said, the youths in various costumes who were present on Friday, August 30 at 01.00 WIB, had already occupied the available seats and some were in charge of taking pictures.

"It looks like they create content to be uploaded on social media, just like similar phenomena outside the region," he said.

When the City Police came to the location of the restaurant on Jalan HM Subchan ZE, in Purwosari Village, Kota District, Kudus Regency, he said, all places inside the restaurant and outside were crowded with the young man who was dressed in a strange costume.

Several youths who were questioned, he said, were aware of the gathering activities at Mi Gacoan Restaurant via WhatsApp, Facebook, and others.

"They want to go viral, so they are willing to dress up strangely and attend Friday (August 30) in the morning to the restaurant so that videos showing hundreds of youths wearing various costumes can be uploaded to social media," he said.

Because they were disturbing and disturbing visitors to the restaurant, they were finally disbanded.

"The majority is the age of school children, so it needs to be educated because in the morning they also have to go to school. We respect the rights to express as long as they do not interfere with public law of public order," he said.

Subkhan added that several costumes that were worn did cause panic and fear and unrest and some were wearing pe dek pants and other costumes that were disrespectful and rude to make Mie Gacoan Kudus managers decide to temporarily close orders.

"We respect private and expressive rights as long as they do not conflict with public rights or public order, because if it disturbs public order, it must be stopped for the sake of public peace. Making noise at night and disturbing is also not justified by existing laws and regulations," he said.

He appealed to all parties to express their rights to be carried out according to existing regulations and not to violate ethical norms so as to potentially disrupt public order.
