Allegedly Violating Residence Permits, 5 Foreigners In West Jakarta Arrested By Immigration At Soetta Airport

TANGERANG - Immigration Soekarno Hatta Airport secured five foreign nationals (WNA) in a number of apartments in the West Jakarta area. Head of the TPI Soekarno-Hatta Special Class I Immigration Office, Subki Miuldi, said the 5 foreigners were suspected of violating immigration related to passports exceeding the residence permit.

Subki Miuldi also said that the five foreigners who were secured by his party came from Malaysia, China, Russia, and two of them were Lebanese citizens.

"Currently we have carried out further investigations of the foreigner," Subki told reporters at Soekarno Hatta Airport, Tuesday, May 7.

Subki explained that the prosecution was carried out starting with a report related to 5 foreigners violating immigration regulations. On that basis, his party conducted a sweep until the 5 foreigners were finally arrested.

"We combed a number of apartments and offices in the Cengkareng and Kalideres areas which are suspected to be places of activities for foreigners. As a result, five foreigners were found at the operation location," he said.

On his occasion, Subki revealed that his party had secured dozens of foreigners during April 2024. Even the 61 foreigners had been continued to the court as a form of immigration law enforcement.

"We also ask for the active role of the community not to hesitate to report through all of our social media channels. Especially regarding the activities of foreigners who have the potential to disrupt public order," he concluded.
