Couples Selling Abortion Pills In Padang Arrested, 30 Non-Married Pregnant Women Have Been Treated
PADANG - The police revealed that the owner of a pharmacy selling hard drugs List G for abortion has been operating since 2018 in Padang.
"From the interrogation of the two perpetrators it is known that they have been operating since 2018," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Padang Police, Police Commissioner Rico Fernanda, in Padang, quoted by Antara, Sunday, February 14.
The two perpetrators in the case are I (50) and S (50), the husband and wife couple who owns "Apotek IF" on Ksatria street, Ganting Parak Gadang Sub-district, Padang. The two of them are suspected of not only selling hard drugs List G without a doctor's prescription to buyers, but also helped the abortion process.
Fernanda said that in the period from 2018 until the case was revealed, I and S claimed to have had 30 unmarried pregnant women who were their consumers. Both of them were arrested at their "Apotek IF" and they are currently being detained.
The disclosure of the practice of buying and selling hard drugs was made on Thursday, February 11. The disclosure of the case began when the police received information that "Apotek IF" was selling list G drugs.
The Operational Team of the Criminal Investigation Unit then followed up on the information by luring the perpetrators into a transaction.
"It turns out that they are selling and buying it (hard drugs)," said Police Commissioner Rico.

The police made an arrest. When interrogated, both admitted that the drug was indeed sold to pregnant women for abortion and that they had also assisted in the abortion process.
From here, the police secured a woman AHS (20) with her non-married partner, ND (20), in the Pauh area. Both are known to be students.
After that, the police also secured other couples, namely FS (20, woman) and AS (25).
"We are still investigating and developing this case," said Police Commissioner Rico.
