Case Of Alleged Corruption In Management Of Manado PDAM Assets 2006-2021, North Sulawesi Prosecutor's Office Detains Former Official
MANADO - The High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) of North Sulawesi (Sulut) has detained the former Managing Director (Director) of PDAM Manado, HHCR. He is suspected of being involved in the alleged corruption case of cooperation and asset management of PDAM Manado with PT Air Manado from 2006 to 2021.
"The North Sulawesi (North Sulawesi) Prosecutor's Investigation Team has detained the suspect," said the Head of the North Sulawesi Prosecutor's Office, Eddy Birton SH, MH, in Manado, Thursday, October 6.
Eddy explained that the chronology of the case began on October 22, 2005, when the HHCR, together or individually, violated the law and abused the authority it had.
HHCR signed a Cooperation Agreement between the Manado City Government or Manado City PDAM and Indo Water BV Drenthe Netherlands (NV WMD), for clean water management in Manado City.
The cooperation was not in accordance with the applicable regulations so that all the assets of the Manado City PDAM, which were financed by the APBD, APBN, grants from the central government and the World Bank, were transferred to the private sector, in this case PT. Manado Water.

The suspect's actions are alleged to have violated Article 2 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law no. 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes as amended and added by Law no. 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law no. 31 of 1999 concerning the eradication of Corruption Crimes in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code.
"The HHCR suspect was detained based on the Detention Order of the Head of the North Sulawesi High Prosecutor's Office Number: PRINT-1053 /P.1/Fd.1/10/2022 dated October 6, 2022 for 20 days from October 6, 2022 to October 25, 2022," he said.
