Ship Carrying 14 Indonesian Citizenswreck In The Malacca Strait, 3 Missing People
JAKARTA - The ship with a sailing route from Melaka, to Rupat Island, Riau, carrying 14 Indonesian citizens (WNI) sank in the Malacca Strait, Tuesday (15/8) early morning, with 11 survivors and three other people not found.
Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) Johor Bahru Sigit S Widiyanto said 14 Indonesian citizens who boarded a dark boat from Klebang Beach, Melaka, were about to return to Indonesia illegally.
Reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 16, at around 05.00 a.m. Malaysian time, the ship sank due to bad weather and big waves. A total of 11 Indonesian citizens who had floating in the Malacca Strait were rescued by the Indonesian-flagged ferry Indomal Kingdom heading to Melaka
