No Longer Transit In Sinak, The Distribution Of Disaster Assistance In Central Papua Is Now Direct To Agandugume

CENTRAL PAPUA - Distribution of drought and hunger aid in Agandugume District and Lambewi District, which had transited in Sinak District, then had to walk for about two days to the point where it was no longer carried out.

The Puncak Regional Government (Pemda) in Central Papua Province is now renting a Caravan type transport plane to help send logistics from Timika to the affected location which was taken about 35 minutes.

"It is true that the Puncak Regional Government has rented an aircraft belonging to PT Reven Global Airport which is scheduled to fly to Agandugume Saturday (July 29) to bring assistance," said the Regional Secretary (Sekda) Puncak, Darwin Tobing in Jayapura, Papua, Friday, July 28, which was confiscated by Antara.

In addition to logistical assistance, Darwin said the Puncak Regional Government would send medical personnel to provide health services to communities affected by drought in Agandugume District and Lambewi District.

Based on a provisional report to the Puncak Regional Government, there were victims who died due to drought and hunger that hit the two districts.

However, he said, his party would confirm at the same time as the delivery of the aid.

Darwin also admitted that the number of residents in Agandugume District and Lambewi District is not yet known. He estimated that the population in the two districts was around 7,000 people

In sending aid to the Agandugume District from Timika, Darwin said the Regent of Puncak Willem Wandik would participate in the first flight on Saturday, July 29.

"Hopefully, Saturday (July 29), the weather is good so that various aids can be transported and distributed to communities in the two districts," he said.

The distribution of aid for victims of extreme weather disasters in the Agandugume District and Lambewi District in Puncak Regency was previously deployed in Sinak District. That's because no airline is willing to serve a trip to Agandugume on security reasons.
