Experiencing Pressure, Tom Holland Chooses Vakum A Year From Acting

JAKARTA - Tom Holland announced that he would be taking a hiatus from acting for a year. He will take a break after starring in Apple TV+'s latest series, The Crowded Room.

Tom Holland admitted that he was under heavy pressure while undergoing the production process. In addition, this series is a challenge for him who is the producer of the series.

"It's a difficult time of course. We explore emotions I haven't experienced before. And not only that, as a producer, facing day-to-day problems in the film set, adding to that pressure," Tom Holland said in an interview with Extra.

I am no stranger to working hard. I live with the principle of working hard is working well, but this series has a different effect," he continued.

There was a time when I needed rest and disappeared and went to Mexico for a week and rested on the beach. I'm now taking a year of vacuum and that's the result of how difficult this series is," said Tom Holland.

On the other hand, he is enthusiastic about the results that will be presented by The Crowded Room. He was excited to see something he gave as a producer and actor.

"I'm curious to see the results. I don't think our hard work was in vain," he said again.

In this series, Holland plays Danny Sullivan, a man who was arrested in the summer of 1979 for being involved in a shooting at the Rockefeller Center. The series is adapted from the real incident of Billy Milligan who was diagnosed with identity dissociative disorders (dissociative identity disorder).

This isn't the first time Tom Holland has called The Crowded Room a difficult project. In a different interview, Zendaya's lover felt that the production process of this series had little impact on his personal life.

I see myself in character. I remember thinking at home and thinking 'I'm going to cut my hair. I had to trim because I had to remove this character, Holland's story.

"And it happened in the middle of filming so I didn't... It didn't feel like I've experienced before," he said.

Besides Holland, The Crowded Room also features Amanda Seyfried, Sasha Lane, Will Chase, Lior Raz, Laila Robins, Christopher Abbott and Henry Eikenberry. The first three episodes of the series will premiere on June 9 tomorrow.
