JAKARTA - Netflix announced that the Stranger Things series will be adapted in an animated format. The Duffer brothers are returning as creators of this animation in partnership with Flying Bark Productions, Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen of 21 Laps, and others.

“We've always dreamed of an animated version of Stranger Things like the Saturday morning cartoons we've loved since we were kids, and seeing this dream come true is truly amazing,” said the Duffer brothers.

"We're totally blown away by the vision of Eric Robles and his team, the script and artwork they've produced is absolutely stunning and we can't wait to share more with the audience! The Stranger Things experience continues…”

This animation news was previously announced by Netflix in 2022. They said Stranger Things would be adapted in a musical as well as an animated version. Later they also plan to make a spin-off series but not focus on Eleven or Steve Harrington.

Later they also announced the stage musical was set in Hawkins 1959 and debuted in London's West End.

Stranger Things is one of the original titles that catapulted Netflix's name as a streaming service. This series has also been popular since its first release in 2016 and is still being updated today.

Stranger Things is set to end in its fifth and final season. Netflix has released several previews where the cast stands together.

The Duffer brothers also revealed that the scriptwriting process had just been completed and production would begin soon.
