Bawaslu Starts Evaluation Of Ad Hoc Panwas Not Performing In The Legislative Election For The 2024 Pilkada

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) said it was starting the selection process and evaluation related to preparations for the 2024 simultaneous regional elections.

"Actually, our evaluation and selection are formulating for today's completion. We will convey to the Panwas (Supervisory Committee) in the regions, the Regency/City Bawaslu, to carry out the evaluation process for the District Panwas," said Chairman of the Indonesian Bawaslu Rahmat Bagja at the Indonesian Bawaslu Building, Jakarta, Tuesday 16 April, confiscated by Antara.

Bagja explained that the selection process is also currently underway, namely the Ad Hoc Panwas selection prepared by the Bawaslu Human Resources Division (HR).

Meanwhile, he said that the evaluation was related to the performance of the Ad Hoc Panwas in the presidential and last legislative elections.

"If then during the presidential election yesterday and the legislative elections of Panwas Ad Hoc's friends did not perform (work well) in their duties, yes, of course we can evaluate and also re-selection, for Pilkada," he said.

He said the selection and evaluation was carried out because the term of office of Panwas Ad Hoc was still ongoing two months after the inauguration of the President and Vice President elected or December 2024.

As for the recruitment and selection process by the General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia, Bagja asked all commissioners and Bawaslu staff to oversee the process.

"We must supervise the recruitment or selection held by the KPU in recruiting the District Election Committee, the Village Election Committee, and also in the future for the KPPS (Voting Organizing Group). This is our common task, we hope we can do it," he said.

Previously, the Indonesian KPU officially launched the stages of holding the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada at Prambanan Temple, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region, Sunday, March 31.

The following is the schedule for the 2024 Pilkada:

1. On 27 February 16 November 2024: Notification and registration of election monitoring;

2. On April 24 May 31, 2024: Submission of a list of potential voters;

3. On May 5, August 19, 2024: Fulfillment of the requirements for support for individual candidate pairs;

4. On May 31, September 23, 2024: Updating and drafting of the voter list;

5. On August 24, 2024: Announcement of registration of candidate pairs;

6. On 27'29 August 2024: Candidate registration;

7. On 27 August 21 September 2024: Research on candidate requirements;

8. On September 22, 2024: Determination of candidate pairs;

9. On September 25, November 23, 2024: Campaign implementation;

10. On 27 November 2024: Implementation of voting; and

11. On 27 November December 16, 2024: Counting of votes and recapitulation of vote count results.
