East Jakarta Metro Police detected 222 polling stations (TPS) in their area which were allegedly prone to conflict during the 2024 election voting on Wednesday, February 14.

East Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Nicolas Ary Lilipaly said the number was part of the total TPS in East Jakarta with 8,812 divided into 65 urban villages and 10 sub-districts.

"There are three categories of TPS conditions, there are less vulnerable, which are around 8 thousand polling stations, prone to 222 polling stations, and very vulnerable to 9 polling stations," he told reporters, Monday, February 5.

However, Kombes Nicolas could not mention in detail the location of the vulnerable TPS that had been mapped by the Police. This cannot be disclosed to the public because it is confidential.

Even so, Kombes Nicolas has anticipated and has prepared personnel according to the category of vulnerability of the region.

"The TPS diversity based on the category is made because in TPS locations it is prone to conflicts, the number of political parties is balanced, history has conflicts, column areas, and people who are considered to be often involved in conflicts," he said.

In order to carry out security, Nicolas explained that he had deployed 2,000 personnel to serve in the field with the TNI and all relevant stakeholders.

Security is carried out for 24 hours, starting from logistics security in the form of ballot boxes and ballots with PPK and KPPS until later polling stations during voting and vote count.
