OnePlus Not Interested In Release Of Mobile Phones With Flip Screen

JAKARTA OnePlus Technology, a mobile phone manufacturer from China, is rumored to be releasing their first foldable phone. Rumor has it that this phone will be named the OnePlus Open with a foldable screen.

Although this company is starting to be interested in making folding phones, OnePlus has no intention of trying out mobile phones with the typeflip because the Oppo has released the version via Find N2.

For information, foldable and flip-lip are two different types of mobile phones. Although both are folded, foldable is a type of phone that is opened like a book, while the flip is folded down like an old-time phone.

Back to OnePlus' plan, the company also has other reasons not to release phones with the typeflip. Quoted from 9to5google, Pete Lau's Co-founder revealed that their targets are business elites and tech elites.

Elite workers such as doctors, financial workers, and executives do not seem to be very interested in cellphoneflips that are often crowded in the market. Looking at this demographic, OnePlus has no intention of developing cellphoneflips.

Currently OnePlus is developing their foldable phones with a top-end specification.Open is expected to bring Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. OnePlus itself will release an Open along with its brother brand, Oppo.

Quoted from The Verge, this can happen because both brands are ordered by BBK Electronics to develop a foldable togetherness. This phone will later be released under the names of both brands, but with different region targets.

Oppo is most likely only centered in China, while OnePlus focuses on the global market. OnePlus itself did not specify the name of the phone they were going to produce, but is most likely named OnePlus Open and Oppo Find N3.
