JAKARTA - Intel decided to cooperate with Synopsys to develop Intellectual Property portfolio (IP) on Intel 3 and Intel 18A for company casting customers.

In this agreement, the two of them also formed a strategic partnership on the Electronic Design Automation (EDA). The availability of IP keys to Intel's continued process nodes will create stronger offers for new and existing Intel Foundry Services (IFS) customers.

" Marking another important step in our IDM 2.0 strategy, this will grow a dynamic casting ecosystem by allowing designers to fully realize the technological advantages of Intel 3 and Intel 18A processes and quickly bring different products to market," said senior vice president and IFS general manager Stuart Pann in his official statement, quoted Tuesday, August 15.

As part of the agreement, Synopsys will activate a series of its standard interface IP portfolios on Intel's process technology.

As a result, Intel's casting customers will gain access to industry-leading IPs built on Intel's process technology and can accelerate project design and schedule for System-on-Chip (SoC).

Multi-generational IP transactions were built on company collaborations for decades, including the development of advanced design streams that combine AI-driven EDA series from Synopsys with Intel's technology and design expertise.

Meanwhile, Synopsys will take advantage of cutting-edge design technology tools and signoff flows to provide increased power, performance, and design areas of the SoC system as well as multi-die on Intel 3 and Intel 18A process technology.

"Collaboration with Intel in critical IP development, along with the design and optimization of system technology, empowering our current and future shared customers to accelerate the next generation of high-performance AI-capable designs," said the general manager of the Solusi Group at Synopsys, Joachim Kunkel.
