JAKARTA - Known as a stand-up comedian, Soleh Solihun said that his ability to speak in front of many people had been honed since he was in college.

In 2002, towards the end of his lecture, Soleh Solihun admitted that he had been in a band. However, his position in the band was unusual. He was asked to become a master of ceremonies (MC) from the band.

"I have a band on campus, I was invited to band with my friend as MC," said Soleh Solihun, launching YouTube Volix, Sunday, November 26.

Soleh calls himself a frontman, but not as the main vocalist.

As the MC of the band, he is in charge of speaking to the audience before the song is played. Next, when the band plays the song, he will act as a background singer.

"So, my friend invited me, 'Well, I want to make a band. You're the MC, okay?', 'Yes, you'll just say'," said Soleh Solihun.

"So, when it's my turn to sing, I'll go to the side, so backing vocals. But yes, the vocal backing is the same as the level. As soon as the band sings, I'll go forward again," he continued.

Soleh said that when he started his stand-up comedy, many people who had known him since college, were no stranger to his jokes on stage. Instead, he called him the most famous person.

"So, if the campus children see me standing up, I already know what I've been doing since before, that's how it was. So, if for example, I put on five songs, I appear at the opening for manasin and make people laugh first, after that I just sing. After singing, I said again, joking with the audience, "said Soleh.

"People know it's me, the other personnel are not even known," he added.

Regarding the reason he was able to join the band, Soleh said that the band concept was indeed to entertain.

"So, my friend, Bayu, he's the vocalist. He wants to make an entertainment band, because he's serious about it," concluded Soleh Solihun.
