Putri Marino And Arya Saloka Chat A Lot For Kretek Girls

JAKARTA - Putri Marino and Arya Saloka competed in the Kretek Girls series. They played Arum and Lebas from modern times which became the opposite side of the story besides Dian Sastrowardoyo and Ario Bayu.

"I played Arum who appeared in the last part of the novel but I got the opportunity to explore in the series. She is a female doctor, independent and only thinks about 2 things mother and work," said Putri Marino at a press conference in Menteng, Central Jakarta on Wednesday, November 1.

I play the role of Lebas. This lembas child who is free to be born from an extraordinary family is very capable of being a bit contradictory. He can see the world from a different perspective because he meets Arum," said Arya Saloka.

The two are put together in several scenes so they practice a lot together to explore the characters that intersect with each other.

I and Arya have a lot of discussions with Mas Ifa (Isfansyah) and Ms. Dini (Kamila Andini) to perfect the character. A lot of chatting together too," said Putri Marino.

Unlike Putri, Arya Saloka took the initiative to build the nuances of 2001. This is similar to Dian Sastrowardoyo who admitted that he had stopped listening to modern music.

"My daughter and I were in the era in 2001, so we heard a lot of music that year. Indeed, I always shoot with speakers, so we set them up and sing together," continued Arya.

"And back again, the position is quite tense because I have been in one character for a long time, filming tv and the characters are quite attached," said Arya Saloka.

Kamila Andini as a director feels there is a challenge to connect the past with modern. However, he and Ifa don't want this series to highlight their pasts too much.

There is a relationship between every story with space and time. Not only does it bring character to life but from space time, settings, we have to sew all eras and times. But as directors, we want this to be the spectacle of the present," said Kamila Andini.
