Cobweb Officially Opens Korean Film Festival 2023

JAKARTA - The Korea Indonesia Film Festival (KIFF) 2023 officially opened on Thursday, September 19, 2023. This annual event presents a series of Korean and Indonesian films that will be available to film fans in Indonesia.

"Talking about Korean films cannot be separated from culture and hallyu which is also popular and Indonesia can follow Korean success with k-waves and we can see the impact of k-waves that have an impact on the creative economy," said Muhammad Neil El Himam of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy at CGV Grand Indonesia, Jakarta.

"The state cannot allow the autopilot film industry. State institutions must be present so that quality films can be present and close to Korean films today," said Rommy Fibri of the Film Censorship Institute.

Bryan Domani as the ambassador of the festival also attended and voiced his pleasure to be trusted to be part of KIFF 2023. He hopes that this festival that will also strengthen relations between South Korea and Indonesia.

"Hopefully I can bring Indonesian films anywhere," said Bryan Domani.

KIFF 2023 is officially opened with the film Cobweb directed by Kim Jee Won. This film tells the story of the struggle of a director to shoot in the midst of the onslaught of sensors and government surveillance in film production.

Cobweb stars Song Kang Ho, Im Soo Jung, Jeon Yeo Been, Oh Jung Se, Krystal Jung, Jang Young Nam and many others.

15 other varied Korean and Indonesian films will air, namely Alienoid, Broker, The Childe, Confidential Assignment: International, The Ghost Station, Hero, The Moon, Phantom, The Roundup: No Way Out, Smugglers, Switch.

In addition, 4 Indonesian films participating in KIFF 2023 are Autobiography, Hello Ghost, When Stopping Here, and Susuk: Beauty Curses.

KIFF 2023 will be held from October 19 to October 22, 2023 in four locations, namely CGV in Jakarta (Grand Indonesia), Bandung (23 Paskal), Yogyakarta (Jwalk), and Surabaya (Marvell City).

All films can be ordered through the CGV application for IDR 15,000 according to the available schedule.
