Jungkook, NewJeans, FIFTY FIFTY Until Aespa Entered The 2023 MTV EMA Nomination

JAKARTA - The MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs) was held again this year. A number of K-pop idols received their nominations through various categories, from Jungkook to FIFTY FIFTY.

Jungkook and TXT became the two K-pop artists who received the most nominations, namely three categories. Jungkook, who released his debut as a solo singer, received appreciation for Best Song thanks to the song Seven with Latto.

Jungkook will compete with Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Miley Cyrus and SZA for Best Song nominations.

Then, he was also nominated for the Biggest Fans category along with BLACKPINK. He also received a Best K-pop nomination which was also obtained by TXT. Meanwhile, TXT also received a Best Group nomination and Best Push Artists.

Several of their label's co-stars, NewJeans and SEVENTEEN, received two nominations, namely Best Group and Best K-pop.

Best Group nominations were also obtained by aespa who was the only artist from SM Entertainment with achievements. Aespa will compete with a number of names such as FLO, Jonas Brother, Myrneskin to OneRepulic.

Best K-pop nominations were also given to FIFTY FIFTY and Stray Kids. Unfortunately, FIFTY FIFTY got this nomination amid their chaos with the agency so they haven't promoted yet.

In the nominations for Best Asia Act, the TREASURE group became representatives of South Korea. They competed against BE:FIRST from Japan, BRIGHT from Thailand, Moria from the Philippines and Tiara Andini from Indonesia.

Voting for a number of 2023 MTV EMA nominations can be done starting today, Thursday, October 5 to October 31, 2023. Meanwhile, the voting for the Biggest Fans and Best Group nominations has not been opened by MTV.

The peak night of the 2023 MTV Europe Music Awards will be held in Paris on November 5.
