Kurt Cobain's Last Days Adapted In Opera Format

JAKARTA - The last days of Nirvana frontman, Kurt Cobain will be adapted in opera format by the Royal Opera House, London. The opera, titled Last Days, takes Cobain's story from the 2005 film of the same name.

Last Days tells the story of a young musician named Blake who was inspired by Kurt Cobain. It is known that he died on April 5, 1994, at the age of 27 years.

This opera will be produced by Oliver Keith, a composer who is also a fan of Nirvana. Although he was only four years old when Kurt Cobain died, he is very grateful for his idol.

“I owe a lot to how I now make music with grunge since then,” Oliver Leith, composer of the Royal Opera House, quoted NME.

"I really thought about where all the chaos and experimentation I was doing (because of Nirvana) was coming from,"

Leith hopes that the opera Last Days can attract the attention of the public, not just Nirvana fans.

Kurt Cobain ended his life in April 1994 in Seattle in 1994. His body was found by a mechanic named Gary Smith who was installing a security system at home.

On the other hand, Nirvana is back in the limelight after the song Something in the Way appeared in The Batman. The album Nevermind which was released in 1991 saw an increase in total streaming.
