JAKARTA - Comedian Muhadkly Acho is directing the latest Starvision Plus film, Gara-Gara Warisan. Produced by Ernest Prakasa and Chand Parwez, this film tells the story of the conflict between three brothers led by Yayu Unru.

“Initially I was told (the premise) that there were several characters who reminded me of the same people around me. When we chatted (with Ernest Prakasa) how could it become a solid story, then Ernest and Mr. Parwez trusted me," said Muhadkly Acho at the trailer launch event in Central Jakarta on Thursday, March 24.

Film Gara-Gara Warisan has completed the production process since last year. However, due to the pandemic and time constraints, this film will be released during the Eid period in 2022.

"We have been ready with this film since Eid last year. Eid is an opportunity for the family to see a spectacle and that is my idealism. I think it's filled with Inheritance," said Chand Parwez.

"Speaking of inheritance can involve (point of view) parents, children, daughters-in-law, in-laws. There are many screens that can be explored from this story. We believe this premise is solid and can be used as Eid entertainment," explained Acho.

Debuted as a director, Acho won the trust of Ernest Prakasa to direct this comedy-drama film. The premise itself started with Ernest and was developed with Acho.

“Acho started by writing first and then sat next to me as a comedy consultant. So it's not necessarily about comedians. I'm sure Acho is ready too," said Ernest.

"If I don't have any specific pressure, I actually feel good. When I have scripts and give them, they get insight and I try to dig it out," added Acho.

Reflecting on the title, Gara-Gara Warisan tells the story of Adam (Oka Antara), Laras (Indah Permatasari), and Dicky (Ge Pamungkas) who fight over the inheritance of their father, Dahlan (Yayu Unru) in the form of a guest house.

Adam, Laras, and Dicky agree to take care of the operation of the guest house, but a sense of selfishness and problems are present in their midst. The film Gara-Gara Warisan will be screened in Indonesian cinemas starting April 30, 2022.
