Through Harpitnas, Menparekraf Sandiaga Wants To Achieve The Target Of 1.4 Billion Indonesian Tourists In 2023

JAKARTA - The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno said the national pinch day or Harpitnas was a discourse proposed by his party in an effort to achieve the target of 1.4 billion domestic tourist trips (wisnus) by 2023.

Even though this proposal has pros and cons, Sandiaga said that his party is optimistic that having a day off on cramped days can increase productivity and make the mind fresher.

"It has been proven through studies that after the long weekend, (the public) are fresh again and their productivity is higher, there is already a scientific reference," he said in The Weekly Brief with Sandi Uno in Jakarta, Monday, January 16.

As for optimizing the pinched holidays, said Sandiaga, his party had submitted them to the Ministry of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform of the Republic of Indonesia.

"We have also submitted it to the Kemenpan-RB, indeed it is in Mrs. Nia Deputy for Strategic Policy Sector this ball, 'How about starting this year maybe with a few first, not all holidays," he said.

Sandiaga explained, in the Harpitnas, holidays that fall on Saturday will be brought forward to Friday, or pushed back on Monday, if they fall on Sunday. Meanwhile, the celebration of religious holidays can be on the day itself.

"This impact can be increasingly seen from the longer time it takes to carry out tourist movements," he said.

Meanwhile, for the industrial sector, if they feel that there is a burden due to an increase in holidays, according to Sandiaga, this can be adjusted according to conditions.

"We are open if there is an additional burden that must also be there, 'how do we provide incentives for the industry so that it is not burdened," he explained.

Harpitnas, kata Sandiaga, diharapkan menjadi tambahan libur panjang yang menyumbang pergerakan wisatawan, yakni wisata pada masa Lebaran, Natal dan tahun baru, serta libur sekolah.

"Saya usul ada satu-dua (hal) untuk digodok, sehingga ada tambahan liburan panjang yang selama ini menjadi penyumbang pergerakan wisatawan nusantara," pungkasnya.
