Winning Over RB Salzburg, Inter Milan Competes With Real Sociedad

JAKARTA - Inter Milan must work hard to beat RB Salzburg 2-1 in the Champions League Group D match at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium, Wednesday, October 25 in the morning WIB. Inter competed fiercely with Real Sociedad who beat Benfica 1-0.

Inter play a game that is not easy. Playing at home, Inter actually had difficulty facing Salzburg's resistance.

Veteran striker Alexis Sanchez opened the team's victory. But Salzburg was able to equalize.

Inter could only breathe a sigh of relief after Hakan Calhanoglu scored from the penalty spot that decisive Inter's win.

The victory made Inter compete fiercely with Sociedad who also won. Both teams both pocketed the seven points. However, Sociedad was ahead on goal difference so that it perched at the top.

Meanwhile, Inter had to settle for second place. Salzburg itself is ranked third with three points.

In that duel, Salzburg really made Inter play all out. The hosts had difficulty breaking through the opponent's defense.

Inter's efforts finally gave positive results when Sanchez broke the deadlock in the 19th minute. He managed to complete an assist from Davide Frattesi to bring Inter 1-0 up.

After that goal, Inter still struggled to face Salzburg's strong defense. Their attack still failed so that the score of one goal did not change until the first 45 minutes.

In the second half, Inter tried to consistently press the opponent. Moreover, they excel in possession of the ball. But when the Nerazzurri put pressure on Salzburg, they conceded a goal.

The visitors were able to equalize through Oscar Gloukh striker in the 57th minute. He completed an assist from Maurits Kjaergaard which changed the score to 1-1.

Inter returned to play pressing despite having to face Salzburg's defense solidity. The hosts' patience was not in vain after receiving a penalty.

The penalty was given because the Frattesi was dropped by Strahinja Pavlovic in the forbidden box. However, the referee had time to review the incident via VAR before pointing to the spot.

Calhanoglu's right-footed shot which became the executor successfully outwitted goalkeeper Alexander Schlager who was moving in the wrong direction. The score changed to 2-1 for Inter.

Inter actually had time to add goals through striker Lautaro Martinez in the 82nd minute. But the goal was disallowed because Martinez was in an offside position. The score did not change and lasted until the end of the match.
