JAKARTA - Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora), Zainudin Amali, held a meeting with related parties to discuss preparations for the 2022 ASEAN Para Games at the Kemenpora Office, Tuesday, June 28. He is optimistic that Indonesia will become a successful host.

As is known, the ASEAN Para Games will be held in Solo, July 23-30. Careful preparations continue to be made.

"Today (Tuesday, June 28) we discussed preparations for the (ASEAN Para Games 2022) and at the same time conveyed to the relevant agencies involved to carry out their responsibilities and obligations at this event", said the Minister of Youth and Sports, who is the Chair of the 2022 ASEAN Para Games Organizer, during the conference. pers.

"The implementation (preparation) has made us optimistic, we will be ready to host this big agenda", he continued.

The Minister of Youth and Sports then paid special attention to the situation of the 2022 ASEAN Para Games. The reason is that towards the end of July it is predicted that the BA4 and BA5 subvariant COVID-19 pandemic will peak.

"It is estimated that this celebration (ASEAN Para Games 2022) will also be the peak of COVID-19. Therefore, we must be disciplined, especially when the virus status is greater. Masks must be used for prevention and health procedures will be tightened", continued the Minister of Youth and Sports.

Preparations for the 2022 ASEAN Para Games include venues, administrative preparations and participants are also in the final stage. Later, the biggest disability sports event in Southeast Asia will be attended by more than 2,000 athletes from 11 countries who will appear in 14 sports.
