China's Interpol DPO Arrested By Immigration Officers While Hiding In Cempaka Putih Apartments

JAKARTA - Class 1 Immigration Officer Non TPI Central Jakarta arrested a Chinese citizen with the initials LS who did not have a passport and residence permit in an apartment in the Cempaka Putih area, Central Jakarta.

After the examination, it turned out that LS did not live at the address that had been stated in his residence permit. Then the Immigration Officer coordinated with the Directorate of Immigration Intelligence.

"LS is known to be on the People's Wanted List (DPO) of the Directorate of Immigration Intelligence. At the request of Interpol, the Chinese Government, LS was involved in an economic crime case in his country in 2020," said Head of the Central Jakarta Immigration Office, Wahyu Hidayat when confirmed by VOI, Monday, November 20, evening.

Based on the results of the examination, LS is strongly suspected of not reporting on changes to Immigration status as stated in Article 71 of Law No. 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration.

"LS is also a DPO for crimes in his country," he said.

Furthermore, LS was secured to the Immigration Detention Room of the Class I Immigration Office Non TPI Central Jakarta. Apart from being detected, LS will also be given immigration administration actions in the form of deportation.

"LS deportation will be carried out after coordinating with Interpol, through the Directorate General of Immigration at the Central Jakarta Immigration Office. We continue to be committed to increasing supervision of foreigners living in the Central Jakarta area," he said.
