Commemorating The 76th Hero's Day Above The KRI Geladak, Risma: Poverty And Eligibility Of Our Main Enemy

JAKARTA - Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Tri Rismaharini calls for fighting poverty and ignorance in commemoration of Heroes' Day which falls every November 10.

On the Ladak Burit KRI Dr. Radjiman Wedyodiningrat (992) which is parked in Jakarta Bay, Risma said poverty and ignorance are the nation's main enemies.

Implementing poverty and ignorance, because that is now our main enemy in the future. So that this nation can continue to be enthusiastic about fighting poverty and ignorance," said the Minister of Social Affairs, Friday, November 10.

He said the government, in this case, is trying to fight poverty with programs such as the Archipelago Economic Hero (PENA), whose 5,000 beneficiaries receive social assistance so that income can be above the city/district minimum wage (UMK) and the graduation of beneficiaries.

In addition, in leading and outermost areas of Indonesia such as the Mapia Islands, Papua, the Ministry of Social Affairs is also assisted by the Indonesian Navy to search areas that are less than in terms of school facilities, education and sending teachers to educate children in the area.

In commemoration of the 78th Hero's Day, Risma acted as Inspector of Ceremonies accompanied by Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Wakasal) Vice Admiral TNI Erwin S. Aldedharma. Meanwhile, Marine Lieutenant Colonel Ahmad acted as Ceremony Commander.

The ceremony begins with the Ceremony Commander's Report, Respect for the spirit of heroes, a moment of silence, a blend of wreaths, and is closed with a prayer reading.

On the same occasion, Wakasal added the importance of respecting the services of the heroes.

"As a great nation that definitely respects the services of the heroes, we also need to socialize our heroes so that they are known and recognized," he added.

The series of Hero's Day activities in 2023 include: National Ceremony and Pilgrimage at Kalibata Main National Heroes Cemetery, Flower Sow Ceremony in the Sea, Awarding National Hero Titles at the State Palace, Reflection on the Struggle on November 10 and Future Struggle at the Kalibata TMPNU Convention Building.
