JAKARTA - The Central PWI management plans to restore the dignity of their organization as at the beginning of its establishment. Hendry CH Bangun, Chairman of the Central PWI, announced this plan in the inaugural meeting of the Advisory Council held at the PWI office on October 18.

According to Hendry, when PWI was first established, their discussions were not only limited to journalism, but also included issues relevant to the nation and state. Therefore, he emphasized that PWI must be active again in the affairs of the life of the nation and state development.

In addition, Hendry CH Bangun emphasized the importance of restoring the integrity and independence of journalists, as guarded at the beginning of the establishment of PWI. "We need to restore the dignity of PWI as when this organization was first established," said Hendry.

Hendry also revealed PWI's initial plan to improve education programs, with the hope that journalists can improve their journalistic abilities and national insight.

The Central PWI Advisory Board consists of nine members, with Ilham Bintang as chairman. Timbo Sihaaan served as vice chairman, and Wina Armada Sukardi as Secretary. Other members include Retno Pinasti (Pemred SCTV), Helena Rea (BBC Indonesia), Budiman Tanuredjo (Kompas Group), Karni Ilyas (ILC), Kiki Iswara (Rakyat Merdeka Group), Pangeran Gusti Rusli (Banjarmasin Post Group), Mohammad Yazid (former Chairman of PWI North Sumatra and LKBN Antara), and Agung Dharmajaya (ATVLI). Outside the wargaining environment, there are Siswono Yudo Husodo and Gories Mere.

The chairman of the Advisory Council, Ilham Bintang, explained that the composition of the Advisory Council members was chosen with various backgrounds and ages, in order to embrace the various aspirations that arise in society.

Ilham emphasized that the Advisory Board will provide input to the board, without being asked or asked. "It's like a bride, before leaving, we play a role in decorating the bride and groom until they appear as attractive as possible. That way, the PWI management while working and interacting with the community is in a ready position and the right direction," added Ilham.

During the meeting, various issues were discussed, including the economy, press companies, quality journalists, organizational asset management, anticipation of information technology developments such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), and firm action for journalists who violate organizational provisions and social regulations. Hendry CH Bangun asserted, "Everything I record and pay attention to."
