Polda Metro Closes The Identity Meeting Of The Minister Of Agriculture's Case Reporter Allegedly Blackmailed By KPK Officials, This Is The Reason

Polda Metro Jaya has kept the identity of the party who made a public complaint (dumas) about the alleged extortion by KPK officials in handling corruption at the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) in 2021. The reason is that opening the identity of the reporter is considered to be able to interfere with the investigation process.

"As for the public or those who filed public complaints received on August 12, 2023, we maintain the confidentiality of the identity of the reporter," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation at the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak, to reporters, Thursday, October 5.

The closure of the identity of the reporter aims to provide protection for the reporter and maintain the effectiveness of the investigation process. Currently, the process of collecting evidence and instructions is being carried out to ensure whether there are unlawful acts as reported.

"Because this is for protection and effectiveness of the investigation activities that we are currently carrying out," he said.

Despite reddening the identity of the reporter, Ade conveyed the development of the investigation process which was no less important.

So far, six people have been questioned, including Syahrul Yasin Limpo and the reporter. While others are drivers and aides from the Minister of Agriculture.

Especially for Syahrul Yasin Limpo, the examination that took place this afternoon was not the first time. The NasDem politician is said to have undergone the information request process three times.

However, it was not explained about the time of the first and second examination of the NasDem politician. The reason is, it is the realm of investigation.

"He has been questioned or clarified 3 times and today is the third time he has been asked for information or clarification on the alleged crime that occurred and it was reported," said Ade.
