Many Residents Complain, Serang City DPRD Refuses To Continue Waste Disposal Cooperation With South Tangerang

SERANG - The Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) of Serang City asked the Serang City Government (Pemkot) not to continue working with the South Tangerang City Government (Tangsel) regarding waste disposal to Cilowong TPAS, Takkan District, Serang City. The chairman of the Serang City DPRD, Budi Rustandi, emphasized that he would not give his approval to continue working on waste disposal from South Tangerang. This was done because of the large number of complaints from the surrounding community regarding landfills which were considered to pollute the environment because of the large amount of garbage falling from trucks. "Many residents have complained about their environment getting dirty because of the garbage that fell from the truck," he said in Serang, Banten, Antara, Thursday, September 14. Budi also hopes that the waste disposal at the Cilowong TPAS is only used for residents of Serang City so that the handling of waste can be carried out completely. "The handling of waste in Serang City has not yet been fully carried out, there is still a lot of garbage in Serang City that is also piling up," he said. Meanwhile, the Head of the Serang City Environment Agency (DLH), Farach Richi, said that there had been no further discussion in cooperation with the South Tangerang City Government.

"There has been no chat with the South Tangerang City Government. After all, this is only for three years, but so far there has been no further chat," he said.
