Strengthen Digital Technology Innovation And Development, UI And Alibaba Cloud Establish Skill Center

DEPOK - To strengthen innovation and development of digital technology in Indonesia, the University of Indonesia (UI) and Alibaba Cloud have now established the Skill Center.Plt. Dean of FTUI, Prof. Ir. Mahmud Sudibandriyo, in his statement, reported by ANTARA, Saturday, December 28, gave his appreciation to Alibaba Cloud for his support not only in the form of physical facilities, but also training programs and learning materials. The first Skill Center in Indonesia was officially launched at the Deanate Building of the Faculty of Engineering (FT) UI. The facility became a symbol of the commitment of both institutions to encourage digital transformation in the world of education and industry. The Skill Center is in the Network Laboratory (Netlab), Mochtar Riady Plaza Quantum Building (MRPQ) Department of Electrical Engineering FTUI. This facility is equipped with the latest technology to provide practical learning experience. As a collaborative space, the Skill Center offers opportunities for students and lecturers to develop expertise in the field of cloud computing (cloud computing) and artificial intelligence (artificial intelligence), as well as bridge the gap between academic theory and real world applications. According to him, collaboration between educational institutions and the industrial sector can have a significant impact in building superior human resources.

The Skill Center is expected to be a catalyst to encourage innovation in the campus environment as well as prepare students to be able to face the challenges of a more competitive world of work in the digital era.

Through access to expertise and resources from Alibaba Cloud, the Skill Center will not only increase the curriculum, but also provide opportunities for cutting-edge research, entrepreneurship initiatives, and collaboration of industry-academics. The Skill Center positions FTUI as one of the leaders in the advancement of Indonesian technology and contributes to the nation's digital transformation agenda," said Prof. Mahmud. In addition to supporting academic learning, the Skill Center also has an important role in the development of innovation ecosystems. Through various activities such as workshops, hackathons, and incubator programs, students as well as UI fostered startups have access to resources and guidance from industry experts. This provides them with competitive advantages to create technology-based solutions relevant to current industrial needs.
