Police Call The Brawl In Johar Baru Due To Social And Economic Factors

JAKARTA - The Johar Baru Police have intensified meetings with a number of RT and RW leaders as an effort to anticipate brawls among teenagers that are increasingly difficult to control.

"We anticipate a brawl by holding a meeting with the heads of RT and RW in Johar Baru," said Johar Baru Police Chief, Kompol Ubaidillah to reporters, Wednesday, September 13.

Kompol Ubaidillah said, in this meeting it was agreed on several points where basically synergy between agencies was the key to success in reducing brawls.

"We will build a joint post to stand by so that when there is a potential, the officers join forces to disperse," he said.

Furthermore, Kompol Ubaidillah said, if you look at the cause of the brawl, of course this has become a common concern.

Among them are limited housing problems, then the availability of land for teenagers' activities is also lacking. Coupled with socio-economic conditions and education also affects the condition of an area.

"In resolving the cause, it will certainly be long. However, we from the police prioritize pre-emptive and preventive efforts," he said.

In addition, the police chief who has just served in Johar Baru also asked the public not to expose the brawl on social media (medsos). Because of the impact, there will be a lot.

Previously, a brawl between two groups of teenagers took place in Rawa Sawah Village, Johar Baru District, Central Jakarta on Monday night, September 11.

Teenagers sell attacks using stones, glass bottles, firecrackers and various sharp weapons. This brawl incident also went viral on social media.
