Immigration Arrest Dutch Citizens Opening Class Of Gerabah Crafts In Mandalika

The Mataram Immigration Office officer arrested a foreign citizen (WNA) from the Netherlands with the initials EA (37) who was revealed to have opened a teaching class for pottery crafts in Kuta Mandalika, Central Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara.

"From the active arrests, it was revealed that EA's activities in opening teaching classes in Kuta Mandalika had violated her residence permit," said Head of the Mataram Immigration Office, Pungki Handoyo, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 16.

In accordance with the results of the examination, EA is noted to be only allowed to work in the Badung and Denpasar areas, Bali.

"Indeed, in Bali there is also a class he opens, but there is no problem. Open outside his residence permit which is not allowed. The reason he, to explore, is also open in Lombok," he said.

The opening of a class in one of the well-known tourist areas on the island of Lombok, continued Pungki, was also strengthened by the results of EA's arrest while at a hotel in the Kuta Mandalika area.

"From the location of the raid, our team found that EA was teaching three participants consisting of two foreigners and an Indonesian citizen," he said.

The results of the examination of the participants also confirmed that EA opened the Gerabah craft teaching class by charging registration rates of IDR 420,000 per person.

"From that fee, participants get drinks, lessons on making pottery, and the handicrafts made can be brought home by participants," he said.

With the results of such an examination, the immigration authorities have declared that EA violated Article 75 paragraph (1) of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration.

"In accordance with immigration regulations, for those concerned, we will take administrative action in the form of deportation and their names will be included in the deterrence list," said Pungki.

Regarding the deportation sanctions, the immigration authorities scheduled the implementation on Friday (18/8).

"So, waiting for deportation on Friday (18/8) the day after tomorrow. For the time being, we are doing security in the detention room of the Mataram Immigration Office," he said.
