Odd Even In Jakarta Is Abolished On Indonesian Independence Day Tomorrow

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government canceled the odd-even motorized vehicle system on 26 roads in the capital city during Indonesian Independence Day on Thursday, August 17, 2023.

"In connection with the celebration of the 76th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia on August 17, 2023, odd-even in DKI Jakarta will be abolished," wrote dkijakarta's Instagram account on Wednesday, August 16.

This odd-even elimination refers to the Joint Decree of the Minister of Religion, the Minister of Manpower, and the Minister of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform of the Republic of Indonesia Number 624 of 2023, Number 2 of 2023, Number 2 of 2023 concerning the Second Amendment to the Joint Decree of the Minister of Religion, the Minister of Manpower, and the Minister of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform Number 1066 of 2022, Number 3 of 2022, Number 3 of 2022 concerning National Holidays and Joint Leave of 2023.

Then, Pergub 88 of 2019 article 3 paragraph (3) which states that traffic restrictions with the odd-even system are not enforced on Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays stipulated by a Presidential Decree.

"We are advised road users to comply with traffic signs, instructions from officers in the field and prioritize road safety," wrote the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.

In the commemoration of the 87th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia tomorrow, the central government held a ceremony at the Merdeka Palace, while the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government held a ceremony at the National Monument. The ceremony was also held at the offices of their respective agencies and institutions.

Then, the flag procession for the heritage of the 78th Indonesian Independence Day in the morning will start at 08.30 WIB until 09.30 WIB with a carnival route from Monas-Silang Monas Southwest-Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat on the east side-Jalan Medan Merdeka Utara on the north side (State Palace).

Meanwhile, the heirloom flag procession activity in the afternoon will start at 16.30 WIB until 17.30 WIB with a carnival route from Jalan Medan Merdeka Utara on the north side/State Palace-Silang Monas Barat Laut-Monas.

In the evening, a Gemilang Silang Monas event will be held at 15.30 WIB to 22.00 WIB at Monas. The activities range from video mapping, cultural arts performances, music concerts, comedy dramas, fireworks performances, to culinary bazaars.
