Ahead Of The 78th Anniversary Of The Republic Of Indonesia, The Papua Provincial Government Urges Its Citizens To Start Raising The Red And White Flag

PAPUA - The Papua Provincial Government (Pemrov) has appealed to all residents in Papua to start flying the Red and White flag ahead of the 78th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia.

"Disbanding the Red and White flag as the responsibility of the entire community in Papua's land," said Papuan Governor Muhammad Ridwan Ruikutun in Jayapura, Papua, Sunday, July 30, confiscated by Antara. In addition to installing the flag, Ridwan also appealed to residents to install decorations, umbuls, posters, billboards or decorations of the 78th Indonesian Independence Day so that the spirit of independence was truly felt on Cenderawasih Earth. The declaration involved 1,500 people consisting of ASN, TNI, Polri, youth, students, associations and other elements that would be marked by the release of balloons, cleaning up the Holltekamp Beach line and planting mangroves. "With this community participation, we hope that the atmosphere of commemorating the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia this time will be more lively after the revocation of the COVID-19 pandemic status," he said.

He added, for the momentum of the proclamation seconds at the flag ceremony celebration, it was held at the Mandala Jayapura Stadium on August 17, 2023. "We invite all residents to come together and witness the momentum of the flag ceremony and the commemoration of the proclamation seconds at the Mandala Jayapura Stadium," he said.
