Dr. Tommy Dharmawan Elected As General Chair Of JDN Indonesia

JAKARTA - Junior Doctors Network (JDN) Indonesia, a forum formed by the Executive Board of the Indonesian Doctors Association which facilitates Indonesian doctors under 40 years of age, announced dr. Tommy Dharmawan, Sp.BTKV, Ph.D, as Chairman of JDN Indonesia. The election was decided at the National Silatnas Gathering) 2023 which was attended by regional delegates from 33 provinces.

Established in 2018, JDN Indonesia has been engaged in health, social, education and welfare issues for the young ranks of Indonesian doctors. JDN Indonesia aims as a forum for empowering young doctors to work together to create a healthier Indonesia through education, advocacy, and national and international collaboration.

JDN Indonesia visited the Junior Doctors Network World Medical Association (JDN-WMA) and its membership was the official delegation of the Indonesian Doctors Association representing Indonesia.

In his remarks, Dr. Uchechukwu Chukwunwike Arum - Chairperson JDN International expressed his joy at welcoming JDN Indonesia Reborn with New Spirit, Dignity, and Integrity. This commitment is urgently needed by JDN Indonesia to contribute to education, advocacy, and health services both nationally and globally. We at JDN International are looking forward to this close collaboration with JDN Indonesia Reborn.

Meanwhile, the General Chairperson of JDN Indonesia, Dr Tommy Dharmawan, SpBTKV, PhD said, JDN Indonesia Reborn is the revival of a generation of young doctors in the post-pandemic era. The number of young doctors under 40 years of age in Indonesia reaches 40 percent of the total number of doctors in Indonesia. Therefore, young doctors under the auspices of JDN Indonesia Reborn need to be solid and obedient and polite among these young doctors must be maintained. JDN Indonesia is a shared property under the auspices of the Indonesian Doctors Association, not belonging to individuals.

Chairman of the Executive Board of the Indonesian Doctors Association, DR. Dr. Adib Khumaidi, SpOT advised, Reaching on the age of 6 years, it is necessary to improve communication in order to achieve stronger solidarity among Indonesian doctors under 40 years of age. In addition, discussions and advocacy on various issues that are developing after the pandemic, making national relations important to formulate various proposals for relevant policies. Regeneration and structuralization in accordance with organizational management are an important part in the spirit of building better Indonesian JDN in the future.

In this 2023 National Gathering, JDN Indonesia also formulated a number of recommendations that would be submitted at the Mukernas and the PB IDI Congress.
