Chatting With Other Man While Smiling, Wife's Finger Cut Off By Husband With An Axe

TANGERANG - A husband with the initials SRN (42) is suspected of committing domestic violence (KDRT) by abusing his wife with the initials NH (33). This happened because the husband was burning with jealousy knowing that his wife communicated via chat with another man.

The Tangerang City Metro Police Chief, Kombes Zain Dwi Nugroho said the incident occurred in Suka Karya Village, Babakan Asem Village, Teluknaga, Tangerang Regency, Tuesday, January 24, at 06.10 WIB.

The incident began when the perpetrator, who is the husband of the victim, saw NH laughing while on her cell phone, allegedly communicating with another man. As a result, the husband was annoyed and took an ax and attacked the victim.

"The domestic violence caused the victim to suffer injuries to her head, arm, and the left ring finger was severed," said Zain in his statement, Thursday, January 25.

Furthermore, the police who received reports of domestic violence immediately went to the location and succeeded in securing SRN perpetrator.

"The evidence that was secured was an ax, knife, and scissors from the hands of the perpetrator," he said.

On this occasion, Zain said that the perpetrator had tried to end his life by injuring himself with a knife and scissors. Luckily his injuries can still be treated.

"We suspect the perpetrator to be subjected to Article 44 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 23 of 2004 concerning the elimination of domestic violence and/or Article 351 of the Criminal Code," concluded Zain.
