JAKARTA - The Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law, and Security (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD has urged the Ministry of Manpower to follow up on requests for female workers (TKW) from Cianjur who claim to have been mistreated by their employers and their children.

The request for a TKW named Siti Kurmeisah to the Government of Indonesia was circulated in a video clip retweeted by Mahfud MD. The former Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court also "poked" the Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Ida Fauziah to investigate Siti's request.

"PMI from Cianjur asked for government assistance to return home. https://youtu.be/FeOLfyzyXVo hope @KabarMenakerRI Mrs. Ida and Mrs. PPA Bintang help this TKW," wrote Mahfud on his Twitter account, @mohmahfudmd, Thursday, January 26.

In the video clip, the Indonesian immigrant worker (PMI) does not disclose where she works. However, Siti gave the name of the company that took her to work abroad at this time.

Mahfud asked the Police to investigate the video and Siti's problems. He also asked the ranks of the Bhayangkara Corps to find out about the company that sent Siti.

"We have the company's name that sent her there but the work address of the TKW is not mentioned. The video seems to have been made hastily in a state of fear -> cc. @DivHumas_Polri," continued Mahfud.

As for the video retweeted by Mahfud, the PMI from Cianjur asked the Indonesian Government to help him return home. In a low voice, Siti admitted that she did not receive the proper treatment, even in relation to what she ate on a daily basis.

"For the Indonesian government, please help me. I want to return to Indonesia. It was PT PTM who sent me, Putra Timur Mandiri. I want to return to Indonesia, please help me. I am here constantly slandered by my employer's relatives, and I am always blamed with my employer. I eat this and it's always not allowed with my employer. Please help me to go back to Indonesia. I beg you, thanks," said Siti in the video circulating.
