SOUTHEAST SULAWESI- Kendari Police have arrested a middle-aged man for committing immoral acts against a minor. The perpetrator's lecherous lust was unleashed when the victim's father was not at home.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kendari Police AKP Fitrayadi said the suspect with the initials AR alias RL (52) was arrested based on a report by the public having intercourse with the initials YLH (13) who is still a student.

"The suspect was arrested this afternoon around 14.00 WITA in the shopping area around Dr. Samratulangi Street, Mandonga Village, Mandonga District, Kendari City by the PPA Unit and Buser 77 Satreskrim Kendari Police based on Police Report Number 832," he said in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, Tuesday January 17, as reported by Antara.

Fitrayadi explained that the perpetrator, a resident of Lapulu Village, Lapulu District, Kendari, had intercourse with YLH on August 1, 2022. The perpetrator invited the victim to have sex by giving IDR 50,000 in cash.

This incident continued up to seven times in the victim's parents' house. After every immoral act, the perpetrator always gives money to the victim.

"Found out when the victim was sick, the victim's parents took her to the doctor for treatment. After being examined by the doctor, the victim's parents then asked the victim and the victim admitted that the perpetrator had intercourse several times," said Fitrayadi.

He said the perpetrator and the victim's father knew each other. However, he still had the heart to have intercourse when the victim's father was not at home.

"The victim's parents knew each other and the reported party used to come to the victim's house. It happened every time the victim's parents were not at home," he said.

Fitrayadi said, based on sufficient preliminary evidence, it was suspected that the suspect had committed a criminal act of child protection as referred to in Child Protection Crimes Law Number 17 of 2016 concerning the Stipulation of PERPU Number 1 of 2016 the second amendment to Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection Article 81 Law 17 /2016.

"With the threat of imprisonment for a maximum of 15 years and a minimum of five years," he said.
