President Jokowi Enjoys Street Music In Malioboro

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) enjoys the pulse of people's lives at night in Yogyakarta, including the singing of street music artists Malioboro.

According to a statement from the Press Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat received in Jakarta, Sunday, October 16, Jokowi took a walk in the Malioboro area, Yogyakarta Special Region with a minimum escort from the Presidential Security Forces (Paspampres) on Saturday night, October 15.

Jokowi greets tourists and the community in the leading tourism area. Through his official Instagram account @jokowi, the President also wrote that he met residents, tourists, hawkers, and many people in Malioboro.

"In Malioboro, I met residents, tourists, and street merchants, and did not forget to hear the chants of street music artists," said the President.

The public seemed enthusiastic when they saw the President in the Malioboro area. In fact, not a few people asked for photos together with President Jokowi.

As witnessed from the video uploaded on the Presidential Secretariat's Youtube, one of the visitors to Malioboro, Siti said she was happy because she was able to meet President Jokowi in person.

"(President Jokowi) is kind, authoritative, firm," said Siti, who admitted that this was the first time she had met Jokowi.

Not only greeting, Jokowi, who was wearing a long-sleeved white shirt, also handed over assistance to hawkers and street merchants in the Malioboro area. After that, the President also witnessed the appearance of street artists in the Malioboro area.

"I'm here touched, happy to see Mr. Jokowi. I wish you good health, a lot of sustenance, long life Mr. President," said one of the beverage traders in Malioboro, Dian who received assistance from the President.

After handing over aid and greeting the people in Malioboro, Jokowi returned to the Yogyakarta Presidential Palace to spend the night and continue his activities.
