The Highest Flood In Jakarta This Morning Hit 5 Neighborhoods In East Pejaten, South Jakarta

JAKARTA - The highest flood level or inundation in DKI Jakarta until Monday 10 October morning was in East Pejaten Village, South Jakarta. The information is based on data from the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) at 06.00 WIB.

Head of DKI BPBD Isnawa Adji said his party had mobilized hundreds of joint personnel to suck up the puddles. Not only in South Jakarta, but also in East Jakarta. These two areas, 53 of the Neighborhood Associations (RT) are still inundated by floods of varying heights this morning.

"We are coordinating elements from the Natural Resources Service, Bina Marga Office, Gulkarmat Service to carry out the desludging," Isnawa said in Jakarta, Monday 10 October.

The DKI BPBD noted that until 06.00 WIB the highest flood or inundation occurred in five Neighborhood Units in the East Pejaten Village, South Jakarta, with a height of 60 cm-3 meters.

Then in Balekambang Village, East Jakarta, there are two Neighborhood Units that were affected by floods with a height of 1.6 meters to 2.1 meters.

In addition, there are four Neighborhood Units in Cawang Village, East Jakarta, which were affected by floods with a height of 80 cm to 2 meters.

"Currently 53 Neighborhood Units are affected by floods or 0.174 percent of the 30,470 Neighborhood Units in Jakarta," said the former deputy mayor of South Jakarta.

As of 06.00 WIB, apart from these areas, the total flood-affected areas in South Jakarta were 20 Neighborhood Units, namely two Neighborhood Units in Tanjung Barat Village with a flood height of 60 cm to 1.2 meters.

Then, there is one RT in Pengadegan Village with a height of 1.4 meters, Rawajati Village as many as three Neighborhood Units with a height of 70 cm to 1.2 meters.

Furthermore, in Kelurahan Kebon Baru there are two Neighborhood Units with a height of 70 cm and in Kelurahan Manggarai there are seven Neighborhood Units with a height of 40 cm.

Meanwhile, in East Jakarta, a total of 33 Neighborhood Units were affected by flooding, namely in Cililitan Village, there were two Neighborhood Units affected by floods with a height of 40 cm to one meter.

Meanwhile, in Bidara Cina Village, there are 12 Neighborhood Units with a water level of 40 cm to 1.8 meters and in Kampung Melayu Village there are 13 Neighborhood Units with a flood height of 40 cm to 1.35 meters.

Isnawa added that the overflowing of the Ciliwung River was due to high rainfall which caused an increase in the status of the Katulampa Dam on Alert One or Danger and the Depok Monitoring Post on Alert Two or Standby on Sunday, October 9 evening.

The BMKG previously estimated that for the period 9-15 October 2022, there would be moderate to heavy rains that hit parts of DKI Jakarta.
