DENPASAR - PT PLN (Persero) UID Bali ensures that Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) are ready to serve tourists using electric vehicles in Bali during the Christmas and New Year 2025 periods.

"We have an application to monitor which point the SPKLU occurs in a queue or is dead, our officers will always ensure that this SPKLU can be used during peak season as currently Bali at the end of the year is a tourist destination for domestic, foreign, and school children," said General Manager of PT PLN (Persero) UID Bali Eric Rossi Priyo Nugrohodi Denpasar, Monday, December 23.

Eric said there were 62 charging points spread across all regencies/cities throughout Bali with each containing two to five posets, bringing the total to 123 charging outlets at SPKLU.

He believes this number is sufficient to serve tourists at the momentum of Christmas and New Year 2025, because each point has been calculated to be 40 km away and is on the travel map route compiled by the tourism office.

"We ensure that in each SPKLU installation a maximum of 40 km, this is the furthest distance that tourists need when using electric vehicles," he said.

PT PLN itself records that currently the busiest SPKLU in Bali is in tourist areas, namely Sanur, Nusa Dua, and Renon. This makes them see that many electric vehicle users lead to the tourist attraction around it.

Not only for tourists who want to use electric vehicles while in Bali, domestic tourists who use land travel electric vehicles are also facilitated by SPKLU since arriving in Bali from Gilimanuk Port.

"If we start from the west from Gilimanuk Port, we already have an SPKLU, then at Melaya Jembrana it already exists, that's actually one place for tourists to rest while taking time to fill it out," Eric said as quoted by ANTARA.

Head of the Bali Tourism Office (Dispar) Tjok Bagus Pemayun who participated in monitoring charging points said that in the future tourists will be more fond of healthy and sustainable tourism, one of which is the use of electric vehicles in traveling.

The readiness of SPKLU from PT PLN is important to increase tourist interest and convince them that Bali is a quality tourist spot.

"There are tourists who sometimes rent cars, car rentals there are some who have prepared electric vehicles, now it is informed where the SPKLU is and this is a commitment that Bali has protected the area from pollution," said Tjok Pemayun.
