JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo arrived at the location of the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit (JIEC), Ancol, North Jakarta, to witness the Formula E racing title firsthand.

Jokowi arrived at 2:09 p.m. wearing a white shirt and black pants, the clothes he often wears during work visits.

The former Governor of DKI Jakarta was welcomed by the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan, Chairman of the Formula E Executive Committee Ahmad Sahroni, Co-Founder of Formula E Alberto Longo, Chairman of the MPR Bambang Soesatyo, and Menparekraf Sandiaga Uno, before entering the VVIP room.

A number of officials who were also present at the location to watch Formula E included the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno, Chairman of the MPR RI Bambang Soesatyo, Commander of the Regional Military Command Maj. Rajasa, and the general chairman of the Democratic Party, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono.

Previously, Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono confirmed that President Joko Widodo would attend the Formula E event and watch the race live at the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit (JIEC) in Ancol.

"God willing, tomorrow, Mr. President is scheduled to watch Formula E live," said Heru when confirmed, Friday, June 3.

Before watching the race, Jokowi will do a grid walk together with the Chairman of the MPR RI as well as the General Chair of the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) Bambang Soesatyo, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno, Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan, Chief Executive of Formula E Jakarta Ahmad Sahroni, Chief Championship Officer & Co-Founder Alberto Longo, and five drivers.
