MUI Asks Stalls Not To Show Off Food While Fasting, Denny Siregar: Very Complicated!

JAKARTA - The Central Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) has asked stall owners not to close their stalls during the holy month of Ramadan. It's just that the food does not need to be exhibited.

This was conveyed by the Head of the Central MUI Da'wah and Ukhuwah Division, KH Cholil Nafis via his Twitter account @cholilnafis, last Sunday, March 27. M

According to him, people's lives during the holy month must be full of tolerance and mutual respect.

"The stalls don't have to be closed for sale, but don't show off the food to people who are fasting. Let's be considerate and respectful of each other", he tweeted.

Cholil Nafis' request was apparently responded to by social media activist Denny Siregar. Through his Twitter account, Denny said it was good for food sellers or shop owners to sell as usual.

"Fasting is fasting. Enjoy the month of Ramadan as a month of forgiveness. It's a facility that you can use if you want. If you don't, yes, please. So you don't have to make arrangements, it has to be like that. It's very complicated", Denny tweeted on Twitter @Dennysiregar7 reported Tuesday, March 29.

Denny then said that the presence of food stalls during the fasting month should be considered temptation.

"People fast in the month of Ramadan, but there is no temptation to open stalls and exhibitions of appetizing food, like Mr. Musni Umar without his mustache...

The reason for KH Cholil Nafis for food stalls not to show off food during the fasting month is actually a response to the attitude of the Bekasi Regency MUI which asked the owners of restaurants such as warteg (food stalls) or coffee shops to be closed during the day during the holy month.

Head of the Da'wah and Ukhuwah Division of the Central Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), KH Cholil Nafis said that stalls selling food did not need to be closed during the fasting month of the holy month of Ramadan 2022.

However, Cholil Nafis emphasized the condition that food stall owners do not show off their sales to people who are fasting.
