Improvement Called Mahfud MD Becomes Tagline With Ganjar In The 2024 Presidential Election

JAKARTA - Candidate for vice president (cawapres) number three, Mahfud MD said the improvement was a tagline that would be brought by him and Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 presidential election.

This was conveyed while attending the Muhammadiyah Open Dialogue with the Candidate for National Leaders at Muhammadiyah University Jakarta (UMJ), Ciputat, South Tangerang, Thursday, November 23.

Initially, Mahfud said the tagline carried with Ganjar was different from the presidential and vice presidential candidate pair number one, Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar or AMIN as well as the presidential and vice presidential candidate pair number two, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

"In principle, what exactly is Pak Ganjar-Mahfud's tagline? If at Mr. Anies' place it is a change that is often interpreted as a total replacement. At Pak Prabowo's place, it will continue," Mahfud said, quoted on Friday, November 24.

These two things are different, said Mahfud with his tagline he and Ganjar. The reason is, they will keep the good and replace it better.

"For us there is a argument after the fiqih, which is to maintain the old but good ones, and replace the new ones that are even better, that's the argument 'Keep the old as long as it's good and take the new as long as it's better', that means improvement," he said.

Mahfud then gave an example of the phenomenon of teaching staff in the private sector often taken to public schools. He likened it to someone who had correctly given a diagnosis, but did the wrong therapy.

"Why is the diagnosis correct? It is true that madrasa schools, private schools need permanent teachers who have met the requirements to be paid by the government. That's the problem with the diagnosis so that they can live, but the therapy is wrong, then in all countries it is taken, the private one will die," he said.

He admitted that this condition had also occurred when he taught in the private sector, but was also employed in the country. According to Mahfud, this condition must be changed.

"If the therapy continues to mess up with us. Every madrasa educates new workers, then the government pays to move back there and start there again. This is not healthy," concluded the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam).
