Allegations Of Election Fraud And The Issue Of Neutrality Of Officials Triggering Irregularity In The 2024 Election
JAKARTA - The Voter Education Network for the People (JPPR) revealed a number of things that will make the implementation of the 2024 General Election feel odd. The determination of the candidate is considered by the JPPR to still leave political and legal residues against the pros and cons of the Constitutional Court's decision on the terms of age for presidential and vice presidential candidates.JPPR National Coordinator Nurlia Dian Paramita said that the public will feel irregularities in the implementation of the election due to the issue of alleged election fraud which was narrated by some political elites."The reason is that the issue of election fraud is not followed up with available law enforcement efforts. The public is only informed of election fraud, but efforts to ensure whether or not there is election fraud are not carried out through the truth test process by carrying out a series of law enforcement efforts with the evidence they have," said Nurlia in her statement, Thursday, November 16.According to Nurlia, people should not be sacrificed with political games that can ignite the fire of supporters of one of the candidates who feels cheated to conflict with other potential supporters who are suspected of cheating. Then, the issue of the issue of neutrality of the apparatus in organizing elections can also trigger irregularities. This is related to one of the vice presidential candidates, namely Gibran Rakabuming Raka, who is the son of the president of the Republic of Indonesia today. There are allegations that the apparatus, which should be neutral, was mobilized to support one of the candidates to become a wild ball at this time."Bawaslu, which is mandated by the Election Law to oversee and ensure the neutrality of ASN, TNI and Polri, is passive and stuttering to see this phenomenon. Even though the civil society coalition has been urged regarding the issue or alleged installation of banners of certain presidential candidates by officials in the East Java region," he explained. In addition, the euphoria of support for presidential candidates through declaration of support activities and so on carried out by political parties or volunteers and their supporters, whether based on mass organizations or individuals, needs to be prevented before entering the campaign stage."Do not let the post-determination of presidential and vice presidential candidates along with their serial numbers as election participants have stolen a campaign start which is basically prohibited by election laws from carrying out campaigns before the start of the campaign period," he said.
On that basis, the JPPR encourages all parties who disclose alleged election violations to report to authorized agencies not to become hot balls in the public that can spark horizontal conflicts in the community in the implementation of elections, including reporting allegations of non-neutral officers in the implementation of elections."The JPPR also encourages parties who are prohibited from carrying out a series of campaign activities before the start of the campaign period and encourages Bawaslu to actively prevent them," he added.
