University of California and NASA Ames Plan to Build Berkeley Space Center Worth IDR 31 Quadrillion

JAKARTA – The University of California and the Ames Research Center of the United States Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) plan to build the Berkeley Space Center. Quoting from Spacenews, this place will be built in Mountain View, California.

With a partnership between the University of California and NASA Ames that has existed for more than twenty years, they are ready to build the Berkeley Space Center worth 2 billion US dollars (IDR 31.3 trillion).

Currently, the Berkeley Space Center is under review for its environmental impact. Once approved, this place will be built in an estimated three years and the University of California will take 130,000 meters of area to house their offices.

Meanwhile, 90 percent of the remaining area will be leased by other private companies. This was confirmed directly by SKS Partners Manager, Dan Kingsley, a real estate developer working on this project.

The Berkeley Space Center itself will cover 18 hectares. The majority of its programs will be designed to promote collaboration between government, industry, and academia. This collaboration also encourages various scientific discoveries and collaborations in the future.

A number of clusters at the Berkeley Space Center will be created to develop space robotics and remote sensing. This cluster will also be used to explore planetary science, climate change, electric aviation, mixed autonomous traffic operations, and firefighting.

However, the most important thing to do after creating the facility is to gather tenants. Each of the space agencies' tenants will have research and development teams to advance machine learning, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and more.
