Turkey Introduces A New Short-range Defense System To New Radar For Navy Ships
JAKARTA - Turkish defense giant Aselsan introduced a new defense system to radar to support the naval ship project at the Teknofest event in Izmir City.
CEO of company Ahmet Akyol said the three new support systems would be added to the Turkish Luat Force inventory for the fifth ship on the MILGEM national ship project, quoted from Anadolu 7 October.
"We added three products into this year's inventory that will strengthen the Navy's power," Akyol said, citing Daily Sabah.
The first system integrated for the fifth ship of the MILGEM project is the short-range air defense system Gokdeniz
Next, continued Akyol, the ship is also equipped with a new CENK radar system.
"This is very high-tech and will make it possible to detect and identify all aircraft, missiles, and surface vehicles approaching the ship," he explained.
He added that the third system that was also integrated on the ship was the radar controlling the shooting called Akrep.
