National Police Chief Calls Korlantas Will Godok Merit Point System For Drivers
JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said the Traffic Corps (Korlantas) would develop a merit point system. Then apply it to driving rules.
"I also received reports other than ETLE, Mr. Lakor and his staff will develop the name the Merit System," said Sigit at the Police Traffic Center, Tangerang, Monday, September 25.
The merit point system aims to minimize repeated traffic violations committed by the community. Because, later the pedicles will be given points or signs if they commit violations.
"Giving points or signs of existing violations," he said.
Sigit asked the Korlantas Polri to carefully discuss the policy and socialize it optimally. Thus, the public understands the policy.
Especially about sanctions. Because, if the points given have reached the maximum limit, then, the violator's driver's license (SIM) will be revoked.
"Please really calculate it, evaluate it. So that as soon as it is captured by ETLE, it is explained that the violations you commit will have the potential to raise points and this point will have an impact on the potential for a driver's license to be revoked," said Sigit.
Previously, the Director of Law Enforcement of Korlantas Polri Brigadier General Aan Suhanan had said that in the merit point system, each SIM owner would be given 12 points in the early stages.
That point will be reduced if the SIM owner commits a violation. Meanwhile, some categories of violations, for example, are light minus 1 point.
Then, violations are being reduced by 3 points, and serious violations are reduced by 5 points. When the points run out, eat, the driver's license will be revoked.
"If the hit-and-run case runs out, 12 points will be immediately removed, the driver's license can be permanently revoked," said Aan Suhanan.
