Press Air Pollution, South Tangerang City Government Bans Students From Bringing Motorcycles To School
TANGERANG - The South Tangerang City Government (Pemkot) prohibits students in their area from using private motorbikes when leaving for school. One of the goals is to reduce air pollution in South Tangerang.
Head of the South Tangerang Education Office (Kadisdik) Deden Deni confirmed the policy. Therefore, he recommends parents to pick up their children when leaving or going home from school.
"We are through the South Tangerang City Government, because specifically the education office recommends parents, today (do) pick up their children at several schools," said Deden, Thursday, September 14.
Deden also explained the reason for making the policy. Because he assessed that many students use private vehicles, it also had an impact on traffic flow in South Tangerang.
