Intergroup Clashes In Cengkareng Started With Beating A Resident After Returning From Work
Clashes between groups in the Cengkareng area, West Jakarta, occurred due to beatings from one of the people, extending to other groups.
The Head of Cengkareng Police, Kompol Hasoloan Situmorang, explained that the incident began when a resident of RW 10 Kapuk Village with the initials S was walking after returning from work.
When crossing Jalan Pinggir Kali Apuran, S then met a man with the initials P, a resident of RW 06, Kedaung Village, Kaliangke.
"Then there was a misunderstanding, P hit S. Because of this incident, S informed his friends and then tried to find P," said Commissioner Hasoloan to VOI, Thursday, August 31.
Furthermore, the commotion between the two people spread to other residents.
"Because there is confusing information, finally between residents of RW 010 Kapuk Village and residents of RW 07 Kedaung Village, there was almost a commotion," he said.
However, the commotion was successfully suppressed after personnel from the West Jakarta Metro Police and Cengkareng Police arrived at the scene.

"After receiving information from residents of the West Jakarta Metro Police and Cengkareng Police, they immediately came to the location to calm the situation," he said.
Previously, clashes occurred between residents and groups in the Cengkareng area, West Jakarta, on Wednesday night, August 30.
West Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKBP Andri Kurniawan confirmed the incident. However, at this time, the situation was conducive.
"Nothing, nothing was secured. It was finished last night," said AKBP Andri to VOI, Thursday, August 31.
