BIGHIT Denies Jungkook BTS's Seven Song Results Of Plagiarism
JAKARTA - BIGHIT MUSIC released a clarification on the alleged plagiarism of the song Seven, Jungkook BTS's debut single. Reportedly, this song plagiarizes the song Time of Mask belonging to the Fin KL group which was released in 2000.
The song Time of Mask was done by Yang Joon Young who then asked for an evaluation from HYBE Labels as the company that oversees BTS.
It didn't take long, BIGHIT MUSIC released a statement that the plagiarism claim against Jungkook's song was not true.
"We want to inform you that Jungkook's alleged plagiarism of the song Seven is not true," said BIGHIT MUSIC.
"Seven is made on collaborations from five international producers and has nothing to do with songs that were part of the domestic album 24 years ago," he said.

Furthermore, they also explained that this claim was only made by one party and did not comply with the criteria for plagiarism.
"This accusation is one side and the song does not meet the criteria as a provision of plagiarism," explained the agency.
On the other hand, this song succeeded in making Jungkook the first Korean soloist to debut in the first place in Billboard Hot 100, Global 2022, and the United States music charts. This song continues to be ranked for five weeks of release.
Previously this record was obtained by the Jungkook group, BTS with the song Dynamite in 2020. In addition, Seven's song is also at the top 20 in Billboard Pop Airplay which indicates the number of plays continues to increase on US radio.
Jungkook himself had revealed his plan to release an album other than a single this year in the fourth half of 2023.
