Semen Indonesia Optimistic Sales In 2023 Will Grow Positively

"Later in the second semester, demand will start pick-up again, so in September or October, cement sales will usually be better for us, but we'll see if it goes up or not," said Joanna in her presentation to the media, in the PT Solusi Bangun Indonesia Tbk (SMCB) Factory area in Narogong, Bekasi, West Java, Wednesday 16 August.

Joanna noted that Semen Indonesia's domestic sales as of July 2023 reached 17 tons. Meanwhile, export sales for the same period reached 4 million tons. This amount is 2 million tons higher than the previous year.

Semen Indonesia recorded a consolidated revenue of IDR 17.03 trillion per first semester of 2023, a slight increase of 2 percent compared to the previous period of IDR 16.70 trillion. This increase in revenue affected net profit which was also raised from IDR 840 billion to IDR 866 billion per first semester of 2023, an increase of 3.1 percent.

SIG's Corporate Secretary, Vita Mahreyni, said that although the domestic market contracted, GIS was still able to keep total sales volume growing 0.1 percent, supported by export sales growth.

"SIG also succeeded in reducing operating expenses by 9.5 percent to Rp2.54 trillion from the previous Rp2.81 trillion compared to last year's period. Net financial expenses decreased 15.3 percent to Rp590 billion compared to the previous period of Rp697 billion," said Vita.

Vita mengatakan peningkatan laba bersih yang didorong oleh kapabilitas pengelolaan kenaikan biaya, optimalisasi utilisasi, serta efisiensi operasional dan beban keuangan, merupakan bukti ketahanan SIG mengatasi berbagai tantangan.
