It's X's Turn To Copy Meta WhatsApp's Video Call Feature
JAKARTA - After Meta copied the text social media format to Threads, now it is X's turn for Twitter's rebranding platform to present video calling features such as WhatsApp.
X CEO Linda Yaccarino confirmed that her microblogging site will have video calling features as part of its transformation into everything.
But, different from the messaging app, video calls don't require a user's phone number, 'You'll soon be able to make video chat calls without having to give your phone number to anyone on this platform,' Yaccarino said in an interview with CNBC International.
Yaccarino also supports the concept of all apps from X owner Elon Musk, he said joining the company because it has an understanding and transformation goal.
"When Elon announced I was joining the company, he was very specific and very clear that I joined him to help him transition Twitter to X, the app of everything," Yaccarino said.
He said Musk currently only focuses on product design and leads a team of engineers and focuses on new technologies.

"Elon is working to accelerate image change and work for the future. And I am responsible for the rest, running the company. From partnerships to legal to sales to finance to all things, our role is very clear," said Yaccarino.
Yaccarino's announcement comes after designer X Andrea Conway hinted about the new feature in a Tweet yesterday, "Just called someone on X," Conway said.
